Introduction to google adwords

What is Google AdWords?

Google AdWords is an advertising network service that is developed by Google to assist marketers in advertising their products towards the targeted audience by displaying ads through Google search engine, Youtube or any websites that affiliate with Google.

The benefit of using Google AdWords is that you only pay when people click your ad, so if people find your ads appealing, that’s when you pay for the service.

By using Google AdWords, you could boost up your website rank in Google search a lot faster. Increasing your website rank organically in Google search can be a difficult task and time consuming because you’re relying on the SEO of the website which requires a lot of tactics as well as strategy.

So how does Google AdWords work?

Before you start to use the Google AdWords, you need to pick the search terms that your target audience might use to search the product or services you’re providing. After you’ve got the right terms you can then create an advert that will appear on the Search Engine Result Page which will appear like this:

There might be a few people that are using the same search terms as you, therefore rival companies will be able to bid for the same search terms. This is when bidding comes into play; the more you are willing to pay for the bid the more chances your ad will be seen on top of the Search Engine Result Page, however there are a couple of thing that you need to keep in mind. Google pinpoints on how relevant your ads are to what the audience is trying to find in the Google search engine. This is called a ‘Quality Score’ therefore your search terms plays an important role. Google will check to see how many times your ads have been clicked; this is known as click-through rate (CTR). Sometimes when you bid lower than your rival company, the chance of your ads being placed on top of the Search Engine Result Page is higher, if your search terms better than your rival’s companies. If all of the above is put into place your ads will look like this:
